Story of the Painting from the Artist’s Point of View: In my latest film, “TrueWild: Kluane,” I document a month-long adventure of skiing, trekking, canoeing, and rafting through the remote and rugged Yukon’s Kluane National Park and Reserve. This incredible landscape, accessible only by small aircraft, is defined by its vast ice fields, sprawling glaciers, and towering icebergs. The tundra and forests of spruce and aspen lead to the dark, serrated peaks of Mount Logan. With my easel strapped to my back or trailing behind me on the snow-packed ice, I paint during those magical hours when the light is just right. I brave the cold, shifting light, and sleet, constantly on the move, setting up camp, and warming by the fire. The film captures the awe-inspiring power and beauty of the locations where I paint, revealing my finished works against the breathtaking Yukon landscapes. Through this journey, I showcase the wilderness and pristine beauty of Kluane, capturing its essence during the fleeting moments of a setting sun.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RyoMQbz5Oc Art Reproduction
